How it works

You place it.
draf.ing lines it up.

You decide what goes where. draf.ing handles the dimensions and connections.

01 / Place

Pick a symbol.

Instruments, equipment and valves. You see the symbol before it lands on the sheet.

02 / Connect

Join the nozzles.

Lines run at right angles and hop over each other where they cross, so the drawing stays readable.

03 / Export

Take it with you.

Export one SVG file that carries its own artwork, or send someone a read-only link.

The symbol library

The standard is
already in the symbols.

Sizes, tag layout and connection points come from ANSI/ISA-5.1. Open the catalogue and look at any outline up close.

Ask Claude to
draw the sheet.

draf.ing has an MCP connector. You describe the process in a chat with Claude, and the drawing turns up in your account.

01 / Connect

One address to add.

Paste https://draf.ing/mcp into Claude as a custom connector and sign in once. Nothing to install.

02 / Describe

Say what the process is.

Name the streams, the equipment and the loops. Claude can also say where each symbol sits; tag numbers, symbol shapes and line routing stay here.

03 / Continue

Yours to finish.

Whatever Claude draws opens in the editor under your account, ready to change and export.

Good to know

A few things
people ask.

Does it generate the diagram for me?

You place every symbol, and draf.ing works out the sizes, where the nozzles sit and how the lines run. With the MCP connector, Claude can place them for you.

Can I use my own symbols?

You can edit the artwork in the catalogue. The tag and annotation layers stay as the standard draws them.

What happens when I share a drawing?

The link shows a snapshot nobody can edit. Changes you make afterwards stay private until you refresh the shared copy.

What can I export?

A single SVG file with the artwork and styling inside it.

Open a blank sheet.
